The world consumes about 80 billion barrels of oil per day, of that, the U.S. consumes
20 billion. The U.S. has only 5% of the world's reserve so it relies heavily on importing
fuel to feed its huge public needs.

Tracking the Tomatoes
The FDA has alerted consumers that a salmonellosis outbreak appears to be linked to consumption of certain types of
raw red tomatoes and products containing raw red
tomatoes (such as fresh salsa, guacamole and pico de gallo). Preliminary
reports say that Roma, plum and round red tomatoes from specific areas of the
country may be the culprit. As a precaution, many restaurants and grocery stores
have removed these tomatoes from their menus and inventories.
The FDA recommends that consumers limit their tomato consumption to
cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes and tomatoes sold with the vine attached.
The news was reported by the Washington Post and HealthDay.
I'm questioning how safe is the ketchup, pasta/spaghetti tomato sauce, and the
tomato paste used in pizzas?
How'd pizza shops survive, Italian restaurants stay open, if, consumers now reject "everything-tomato" all together?
Are the tomato juice and canned tomatoes plus other related products not mentioned here already on shelves in the supermarkets/convenient stores okay?
Food manufacturers never print on their product labels where, how and when they get their tomatoes.
