Blogspot: Avril's recent show in San Antonio, TX. Click for details: Following Lavigne. She's now in San Jose, ready for another "high-caliber, energetic" stage rock-out. Which of her concert is the real Best Damn Show? The verdict is still out on all hands.

The Lady in Pink
Avie arrived today in San Jose from a week's advance for the preparation of the next concert. She'll be exploring the city and it's attractions. Lavigne's been in the area before, so it should be familiar to her. I don't know if her husband is accompanying her, but she sure has her assistant, agents, body guards and memebers of Boys and Girls with her for whatever private activities she'll be having. And paparazzi following as well.

That's why celebrities are always in disguise. This btw, happenend last month. Jessica Simpson was having dinner in a dim-sum house with her friends and family in Santana Row (premier area in San Jose, CA-USA popular for it's high-end/luxury stores). People next table were not sure if it was her and later only learnt in the news, that was in fact her in person.

Another one. Once in a grocery store that was playing her song through the radio, singer/songwriter KT Tunstall asked a store clerk of whom that didn't recognize her. She said: "Is she any good?". He answered : "She's cool. I like her music." Which before the answer, she broke out in cold sweat hoping for a positive feedback about her. In the end, it turned out good.

If you see a lookalike in the street, you might be in the right spot. Don't bother, let her do her business. Apply the old school technique: I secretly know who you are to protect the rocker's private life.

Be prepared to see pink everywhere. It will be an exciting show as she's famous for pulling off fast-tempo, high energy performings. It is advised that pregnant women stay away from the bass amplifiers to minimize the sound waves penetrating the body. Your baby will feel more comfortable and enjoy a "softer" music with you. Event start 7pm sharp, so be there early to find a parking spot near the Pavilion as street spaces are limited. Take public transportation if you can.

Regarding "Hot" in the 3rd Album
This "Hot" song's for her husband Deryck Whibley - - "You're so good to me... I want to lock you up in my closet, where no one's around I want to put your hand in my pocket, because you're allowed... You make me wanna drop..." - - very catchy and seductive words. You could be hot. But if you want to feel how's like to be steamy hot, check out the lyrics yourself.

Features I'll like to have that's missing on this model:
(1) Tremolo Arm (whammy; whammy bar; vibrato arm). It is very so important to have this in order to have the ability to change the note pitch/extend the note vibration. I can't believe that Avril left this equipement out. Well, there're various hand techniques to overcome the lack of that features, of course. It's good to have one though.
(2) It has only a nob for volume control. No adjustment for treble and/or bass controls. I would've add these additionals.
(3) This one has only a single dual-humbucker pickup. I'd arrange and customize the pickups like so: 2-1-1-2
(dual blade-hum + single coil pickup + single coil pickup + dual blade-hum). This arrangment will produce a more robust bass and louder overall sound. On Avril's signature model the arrangement is: 2 (dual-humbucker). Only. I think her model will need the thickest available "E" string for producing lower sound. But again, only if you always play low notes.
(4) One of a kind (rare), fret position marks imprinted on the side of the neck. Normally, they are on the surface of the fretboard (under the corresponding strings). I believe this is to the players advantage that you can see it directly from your point-of-view (in your eye sight directly looking down where your fingers will be). Mine is even harder to find in which I'll have the dots printed on both locations; surface and side. Does that look weird? I'll sacrifice function over art!

On the other hand, the features seem to be enough for the stage rocker as it was customized by and for her. A distinctive point I find and like is that the shaped nutheads are very different in form compare to standard Telecasters. They appear more squared, large, which give the headstock a bold/heavy look.

If you look it from another point, this guitar is bare-bones. Having only the essentials; basic features for an electric guitar. Somehow or other it's a representative of Avril's character, as she said way way back in her earlier blog, "I'm a very low-maintenance person".

To this day, she still does her own makeup, doesn't rely on a hair stylist and dresses herself. She said: "I don't like people telling me what to do, what to wear. I feel the fewer people around me, the better I can be. When there's a crowd serving me, I'm like ~ yeah, just go, okay?" In other words, she doesn't like to be packaged commercially. I can tell she's a very strong opinioned person - I always get what I want type.
